founder and President of Protomet, earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee. A Knoxville native, Bohanan worked at the Y-12 Nuclear Weapons Complex for 12 years before launching Protomet Corporation in 1997.
Under Bohanan’s leadership, Protomet experienced rapid growth in the past decade and was recognized by the statewide publication Business TN Magazine as one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in the state.
In recent years, the company has invested heavily in R&D and now has numerous patents for products that are sold to major OEMs as well as an international dealer network.
In 2014, Protomet completed a $7 million expansion which more than doubled the size of its facility and merged an acquired aluminum finishing business into the Protomet campus.
